One of the most important companies on the fuel distribution market and the developer of the jt terminal project, the only private terminal for petroleum products in Romania
Located in the Free Zone of Constanța Port, JT Terminal is the newest multi-modal and fully automated terminal for liquid petroleum products built in Romania in the last 50 years that operates specific products such as:
Currently, Romania has only one oil product terminal on the Black Sea built in 1960, which belongs to the Romanian state and which does not cover the market's needs regarding fuel storage and distribution capacity
In 2022, imports peaked and are expected to reach 2.6 million tonnes by the end of the year. This increase is not due to the increase in consumption in Romania, but to the export to the Ukrainian market due to the war. This increase would continue for several years as Ukraine's Black Sea oil ports were destroyed.
Due to this, the OIL TERMINAL works at full capacity, but covers only 7-8% of Ukraine's monthly diesel consumption, which before the war was about 1.5 million tons per month.
It follows that it is beneficial to build another terminal to ensure the logistics of diesel exports to Ukraine and even deliveries to warehouses in Romania as demand increases by approximately 600-800,000 tons annually.
terminal has an hourly handling capacity of 700 and a maximum of 1,000 tons for ships, a minimum of 300 and a maximum of 700 tons for trains and a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 80 tons for tankers.
JT Terminal is the first and only Romanian private company that received non-refundable European funds through AA POIM.
With a total investment of 25 million euros, obtained from three sources of financing - equity capital, investment credit granted by UniCredit Bank Romania and financing through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program - upon completion, JT Terminal will be the first private terminal for petroleum products from Romania built in the last 50 years.
"The development of the first private terminal in Romania is a natural evolution of the company, which came as a result of a deficit of 20-30% of fuel storage and distribution capacity on the Romanian market. We are glad to see that now, nearing the completion of construction, the signals in the market opposite JT Terminal are positive. And this is confirmed by the interest of our partners in Bulgaria, Ukraine or Hungary who ask for storage and loading-unloading capacities of the products.", declares Bogdan Aldea, President of the Board of Directors and Commercial Director of JT Grup Oil SA
It has 8 tanks with a total storage capacity of 31,500 tons and handles barges with a capacity of 3,000 to 9,000 tons, 16 wagons at the same time on two parallel railway lines, and 20 tanks at a time in the loading area and download
The products arrive at the terminal by means of specialized transport ships that will use the existing port infrastructure. The ship's tanks are connected to their discharge pumps. After connecting to the terminal system, the products are pumped through the technological pipelines into the 6 tanks with a capacity of 5000 tons each.
Related installations: unloading arms specific to the two products; product transfer pipes to storage tanks; tank-to-ship pumping groups; heating installation in tanks as well as in transfer pipes; installation of remote management; automation of all elements of technological circuits (SCADA).
JT Grup Oil SA aims to become a pioneer in creating an efficient and sustainable distribution network, by offering innovative solutions that promote strategic partnerships. The company reaffirms its commitment to the environment by using green energy consumption, produced internally by 100 solar panels of 250 kW, mounted on an area of 2,000 square meters. The energy produced by means of photovoltaic panels fully covers the consumption needs for the entire activity of the group. By using green energy, JT Grup Oil SA contributes to reducing the carbon footprint and protecting the environment.
JT Grup Oil SA. carries out fuel distribution operations in the South-East of Romania with the help of its own fleet of 11 tanks with a capacity of up to 40,000 liters, equipped with pumps and indicators to measure the quantity delivered. For fuel distribution in the northern part of the country, the company has partnerships with representatives of the business environment, long-term collaborators.
Once the JT Terminal project is completed, we will facilitate quick and efficient access to oil products in Eastern Europe, serving Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Austria and Ukraine.
Connected by rail and road to the port and national infrastructure, the new multi-modal and fully automated terminal will allow the simultaneous loading and unloading of ships, wagons and tankers, reducing waiting times in the port for loading or unloading fuels.
